Mooresville, Indiana (Big Stone Gap, Virginia) Earl James Maxfield, 88, passed away on February 18, 2019 in Indiana where he had lived for the past 45 years. He was born and raised in Big Stone Gap. He was preceded in death by parents, John and Maggie Maxfield; his first wife, Willie Miller Maxfield of Big Stone Gap and his second wife, Naomi Maxfield of Indianapolis; his step-daughter, Judy Heritier; brothers, Curtis, Ernest, Paul, Ralph, J. C.; sisters, Edith Hall, Lorene McConnell, and Helen Jones. He is survived by his children: Connie Clemons of Norton, Virginia, Vickie Clark of Denver, Colorado, and step-daughter, Brenda Doyle of Indianapolis; grandchildren: Anna Ramsaur (California), Kelli Schneider (New Hampshire), and Shannon Lyle (Colorado); great grandchildren: Jessica, Anthony, and Claire. He is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, and family members who still live in the local area that he loved and considered home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11 am Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Roy A. Green Funeral Home, Appalachia with funeral services will beginning at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. John McCarroll.
