Doris Phillips Sheppard, age 85, of Glendon, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019, at her home. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Glendon Independent Christian Church officiated by Reverend Brian Beane. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM and following the service in the fellowship hall. Doris was a native of Moore County. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Doris enjoyed sewing and making home cooked meals for her family. Family time, especially with the grandchildren, was most important to her. She was the daughter of the late Dewey and Myrtle Elkins Phillips and was preceded in death by her husband, of 64 years, Kenneth; siblings: Edward Phillips, James Phillips, Margaret Phillips, Murl Phillips, Donald Phillips, Joseph Phillips. Doris is survived by daughters: Cindy Ward and husband Ron of Pinehurst, Jane Stewart and husband Rodney of Glendon; grandchildren: Jonathan Stewart, Elizabeth Parnell and husband Brandon; great grandchildren: Bella and Hazel Parnell: Brother: Edwin Phillips and wife Mary; sisters-in-law: Virginia Phillips, Helen Phillips.
