Donnie Payne, 72, of Seligman, Missouri passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born in Seligman June 15, 1946 to Ellis Jessie Payne and Velma Lucille Hopping Payne. He worked for Emerson Electric, helping maintain the equipment before retiring after 32 years of service. He was a practical joker and anyone who had been at Emerson very long was on the receiving end of a prank at one time or another. Donnie was not afraid of hard work, he loved being outdoors, working in the garden, fishing and was a master at repairing small engines of every kind. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, twin brother, Lonnie and Perry Lee Payne. Donnie is survived by his wife of 51 years, “Kathy” Ayres Payne; two children, Kelly Payne and wife, Yvonne of Seligman, daughter, Annett McAbee and husband, Kevin of Hindsville, Arkansas; one grandson, Anthony Wiltgen of Rogers; two sisters, Janie Rice of Dadeville, AL, Jessie McIver and husband, Willie of Avoca, AR; one brother, James Payne and wife, Becky of Camp Hill, AL and many extended family and friends. Graveside services will be announced shortly and conducted at Bayless Cemetery in Gateway, AR with Pastor Daton Brattin officiating. There will be a time of fellowship following the graveside service. Memorials may be made in memory of Donnie Payne to Circle of Life, 1201 NE Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, AR 72712. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers. Memories may be shared at stockdale-moodfs.com
