Dixie Lee Parrish Fahrubel age 67, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday – February 14, 2019. She was born in LaFayette, Georgia to the late M. D. and Betty Hise Parrish. She was a lifelong resident of Walker County and a graduate of Gordon Lee Memorial High School – Class of 1969. She was an assistant Vice-President of The Bank of Chickamauga where she worked for thirty years and was currently working as the Media and Clerical Aide for Gordon Lee Memorial High School. She enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren in sports and academics. She also enjoyed being out on the water and fishing. She was a member of Elizabeth Lee United Methodist Church in Chickamauga, GA. Dixie is survived by her husband: Clyde Douglas “Dugger” Fahrubel, daughters: Heather (Rick) Solmon, Hannah (Matthew) O’Kelley, sister: Judy Albertson, grandchildren: Jack Solmon, Bo Solmon, Charlie Kate O’Kelley all of Chickamauga, GA, and two nieces. The family will receive friends Friday from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A private graveside service will be held Saturday – February 16, 2019 with Don Taylor officiating. In lieu of flowers, Dixie requested donations be made to Backpack Blessings at Chickamauga City Schools – 105 Lee Circle – Chickamauga, Georgia 30707.
