Obituary for Dean E. Peck Print Dean Eugene Peck, 71, Duncansville, died Saturday morning at Van Zandt VA Medical Center after a hard-fought extended illness. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Clifford and Yolanda (DeRubeis) Peck. He married Sally A. Henderson. Surviving are his wife; two daughters: Wendy Russell and husband, Ryan, of Portland, Ore., and Missy Sullivan and husband, Robert, of Hollidaysburg; four grandchildren: Zach, Izzy, Colton and Kenley; a sister, Sondra Wiedkehr, and husband, Fritz, in California; and a brother, Jess Peck, and wife, Peggy, of Hollidaysburg. Dean was a graduate of Altoona High School and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired as an electrician from Penelec. After retirement he worked in maintenance at various local businesses. Dean was of the Catholic faith. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins fan and he loved all animals. He was an active member and supporter of the NRA. Friends will be received from 2 until the 4:30 funeral service on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park, Altoona, Monsignor Stanley B. Carson officiating. Entombment will be made at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dean’s memory may be given to Van Zandt VA Medical Center or Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E.
