Obituary of Daniel Garza, Sr. Daniel Garza, Sr., born November 16, 1928 in Waco, TX, died February 25, 2019 peacefully in his home. Our beloved Father was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Maria R. Garza, his daughter Gloria Lopez, infant Son, Salvador, and his parents, brothers and sister. Surviving to cherish his memory, are his children, Daniel Jr. (Kathy), Cristela, Yolanda, Ruben (Jay Hubble), and Rosemary, 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandson. Daniel retired from Lindell Drop Forge. He was an avid fisherman and loved his Detroit Tigers, having gone to see the Tigers play in the World Series in 2006. He has been a member of Cristo Rey Church since 1963. Our Dad loved to cook and bake, where you would find him either singing or whistling tunes. He loved listening to his Mexican music. Our Dad worked hard to support the family he was so very proud of. Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. Thursday, Feb. 28th, with 5:30 P.M. Rosary at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. The Funeral Liturgy will be 12:00 Noon Friday, March 1, 2019, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 201 W. Miller, Lansing, Michigan 48911 with Fr. Fred Thelen presiding. Rite of committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Daniel may be made to Grace Hospice. Flowers maybe sent directly to Cristo Rey Catholic Church.
