Mr. Charles A. Gott, 89 a resident of Trenton died Monday, Feb. 4, 2019 at 5:10 P.M. at St. Lukes on the Plaza, Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 8, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Edinburg Baptist Church west of Trenton. Burial will be in Edinburg Cemetery. Family visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home, Trenton. Mr. Gott was born May 29, 1929 at Edinburg, MO. the son of Loren Bentley and Minnie Ann Long Gott. He attended Robertson Rural School, Big Oak and Trenton High School. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Marines and then was employed in the body shop and then as service manager at the former McVay Motors, then Trenton R-9 School District, Steve’s Cars, and Car Deals all of Trenton before retiring. He was a member of the Edinburg Baptist Church. On July 17, 1949 he was married to June V. Petterson at Trenton. She preceded him in death on Nov. 8, 2007. His survivors include his two sons Danny Gott and wife Jeanan and Chris Gott and wife Phyllis all of Trenton. Four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Linda Douglas, Mary Lee Goldsby, Ethel McCulley, and by one brother Robert Gott. Memorials to Edinburg Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
