OBITUARY Cecil P Smith December 14, 1931 – February 5, 2019 Cecil P. “Bud” Smith Jr., 87, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. He was born December 14, 1931 in Indianapolis, the son of Cecil P. and LaVaughn (Duckworth) Smith Sr. and was a graduate of Bainbridge High School “Class of 1949”. Bud was a veteran of the United States Army and served full time as a recruiter for the Indiana National Guard. Bud owned and operated Budget Motors in Greencastle from 1983 until his retirement in 2010. He had previously worked 27 years at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis. He is survived by his daughters, Susan F. (husband, Joseph) Billingsley and Rosemary Rimar and significant other, William Moore; son, Wesley (wife, Janet) Smith; grandchildren, Amber Spires, April Billingsley, Brian Rimar, Stacy Cole, Lenna Cline, Morgan Freebairn, and Mike Mattingly; eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charlotte Rose Smith; and a sister, Margaret Blair. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at the Union Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 8th at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Bud’s memory to the Humane Society of Putnam County P.O.
