Carol M. Vertrees, 74, of Elnora, passed away at home on February 3, 2019. She was born April 2, 1944, in Linton, to Wayne and Eleanor (Isaac) Bays. She graduated from Odon High School in 1962. She is survived by daughter Gina (Lee Walters) Vertrees of Bloomington, son Andrew Vertrees of Vincennes, and daughter Heather (Greg) Mosbarger of Terre Haute; her beloved cat Leo; sisters Lou (Ron) Kibler of York, PA, and Bonnie (David) Wehmeier, of Decker; brothers Perry Bays and John Bays of Elnora; several nieces and nephews; and Aunt Marilyn Frazier. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Brenda and Nancy Bays, brother Kenneth Bays, and nephew Brian Speer. A memorial service will be held at a future date. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Greene County Humane Society, 1026 N 1375 W, Linton, IN. 47441.
