Barbara Pauline Blazer February 23, 1934 – February 20, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Barbara Pauline Blazer, age 84, of Mokelumne Hill, California, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in Jackson. Barbara was born in Merryville, Louisiana on February 23, 1934, a daughter of the late Lillie Emma (Cooper) and Alvin Joe Whitman. Barbara attended Avery Elementary School in White Pines, California, which later became Hazel Fischer Elementary. She graduated from Bret Harte High School in 1952, later working for a short time as a telephone operator in Angel Camp, California. Barbara married Charles Blazer December 17, 1954 making their home in White Pines, California, and then moved to Mokelumne Hill, California in 1962 where she resided for 57 years until her passing February 20, 2019. Barbara was involved in various aspects of life in the Mokelumne Hill community. She was a member of the women’s club as well as a Cub Scout Leader and was always first in line to volunteer for any activity involving her children. She was a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and faithful church attender until the frailties of her age interfered with regular attendance. Her habit of reaching out to those who needed help will always be remembered by her family, as well. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Charles Blazer; son, Jim (Michelle) Blazer of Reno, NV; daughters, Kathy (Dan) Young, of Mokelumne Hill, CA; Carole (Chuck) Hoffman, of Mokelumne Hill, CA.; grandchildren, Cassie, Becky, Jessie, Annie, Ellia, Carson, Jacob; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Owen, Luca, Harper, Aria, and Mia. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carmen Gold and brother, Sonny Whitman. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation Friday, March 1, 2019 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Daneri Mortuary in Jackson. A funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 10700 North Hwy 49, in Jackson on Saturday, March 2, 2019, 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Garden of Golden Memories, Sunset View Cemetery in Jackson. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Amador and Calaveras Counties, P.O.
