Mr. Donald Mathis, age 79 of Dover, TN passed away February 1, 2023 at Tennova Hospital, Clarksville, TN with his loving children by his side. He was born in Stewart County the beloved son of the late Norman A. and Marian Alvean Bumpus Mathis. Donald was a hard worker and provider for his family. He was dedicated to his work in law enforcement, a master carpenter and retired from TVA Police. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and loyal friend. In addition to his parents, he his preceded in death by his devoted and loving wife, Sandra McLean Mathis. He leaves behind those that loved him dearly, sons; Joseph Mathis, Joshua Mathis (Megan), daughters; Julie Mathis, Jennifer Mathis Hewell, brother; Ronald Mathis; sister; Kay Seiter, grandchildren; May Plyler (Matthew), Slaton Mathis, Harley Mathis, Denver Hewell, Adalia Hewell, Jonah Mathis and Alvean Elaine Mathis. A graveside service will be held Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Donald Mathis Cemetery, Dover, TN with Bro. Del Morgan officiating. Those serving as pallbearers are Slaton Mathis, Denver Hewell, Matthew Plyler, Britt Nixon, Jonah Mathis and Lee Back. Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, TN and online condolences may be made at anglinfuneralhome.com
