Willis’ Obituary Willis W. Hufford, 97, of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, January 7, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hufford, the son of the late Elzie and Loveda (Gough) Hufford was born Feb. 20, 1921 in Flint, Michigan. He was a member of the Green Forest Church of Christ. He was a retired carpenter with St. Louis Carpenter Pension Shop and Mills. Mr. Hufford was a member of American Legion Post 153. He enjoyed spending time with his family, building things and gardening. Mr. Hufford was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather. On April 22, 1942 he married his lifelong love Mabel (Thompson) in Senath, Mo. She preceded him in death Jan. 19, 2011. He is survived by his daughter, Judy Swanson, a grandson, Billy Swanson, granddaughter in law, Leola Swanson, two great-grandchildren, Nicklis Swanson and Makalah Cullum and one great-great grandson Houston Kuntz all of Poplar Bluff, two sisters, LouElla Callahan of Kennett and Bernice Guy of South S.D. , as well as his church family. A granddaughter, Torie Swanson and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Green Forest Church of Christ with the funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. Mr. Adam Noles will officiate.
