William Theodore Raney November 28 1932 January 24 2019 (age 86)

William Theodore Raney, of Magnolia, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, Thursday, January 24, 2019. He was 86. Bill was born on November 28, 1932, in Loogootee, Indiana, son of the late Russell Raney and Lyona Smith Clark. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a medical technician. Bill later worked for the Dover Post Office until his retirement. Upon retirement, he volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years. Bill enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking, laughing, a good game of cards, and a cold beer with family and friends. Bill lit up a room with his smile. He is preceded in death by his wife, Emma-Jean Raney. Bill is survived by his daughters Teresa Mellin and her husband Bob, Lisa Shimkus and her husband Tom, a son Billy Raney, grandchildren Elisa White, Laura Griffith and her husband Joel, Aimee Reed, Tommy Shimkus, Andy Shimkus, and great-grandchildren Emma, Alex, Ellie, Madelyn, Natalee, Ben, and Carley, his extended family of nieces and nephews from Loogootee, Indiana. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Tammy Vicere for her outstanding support and love. Visitation will begin at 12 noon followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2019, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.
