Virginia Irene Nyp March 21 1925 January 19 2019

Virginia (Gillman) Nyp, age 93, passed away on January 19, 2019 at the Grand Traverse pavilions in Traverse City, MI. She was born March 21, 1925 in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of Alton Gillman and Mary (Dykman) Gillman. On November 19, 1943 in Rockford, MI she married Jacob Nyp, who preceded her in death on May 22, 1978. Virginia worked for many years and retired from Oven Fresh bakery in Grand Rapids. After retiring she moved north, to Traverse City in 1985. Virginia is survived by her daughters; Marilyn Magley of Ft Wayne, IN and Cheryl (Lindsay) Witucki of Benzonia, MI. Her grandchildren; Jesse Magley of Ft Wayne, IN, Marcy Cockerill of Ashland, IL and Kristine (Roy) McMahon of Arvada CO. Also 7 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sherry Lynn (Magley) Grubb in 1991, and two brothers Charles Gillman in 1998 and Donald Gillman in 2011. A graveside service will be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Grand Rapids, MI in the spring. The family is being cared for and served by the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
