OBITUARY VERDIE Louvenia BARE January 26, 1937 – January 12, 2019 Verdie Louvenia Dishman Bare, 81 of Hudson, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. She was born on January 26, 1937 to the late Bud Dishman and Frankie Francis Oliver Dishman in Ashe County. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Cecil Bare; daughters, Vickie Bare and Lisa Jane Bare; and three grandsons, Daris and Devin Tester, and Draci Icard. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Robert Bare and wife Melanie of St. Francisville, Louisiana; daughter, Karen Tester and husband Thomas of Hudson; brother, Henry Dishman of Hudson; sister, Mary Dodd of King George, Virginia; one grandson and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service honoring Verdie’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care of Lenoir at 902 Kirkwood St NW, Lenoir, NC 28645 or any donation of time to volunteer at a local hospice facility.
