Vera Nell Burns of Thomasville, Georgia October 14, 1936 – January 30, 2019 Vera Nell Burns, 82, of Thomasville, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at her residence. Memorial Services will be held at Whiddon Shiver Funeral Home on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 2:00pm with Ray Smith officiating. Mrs. Burns was born in Excel, AL to the late Clinton Turberville & Mattie Marie Everett on October 14, 1936. She married Steve Burns in Madison, FL in 1988 who has been her husband and partner for over 30 years. She worked in environmental services for La Mer Condominiums for many years and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, Steve Burns of Thomasville, daughters, Pam Hoyle of Naples, FL, Robin Smith of Naples, FL, Tracy Mezatasta of Thomasville, brothers, O’neal Turberville of Excel, AL, Kenneth Turberville of Franklin, AL, sisters Mary Ellison and Ruth Stinson both of Stapleton, AL, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
