Vaughn L. Crispin Sr., 92, of Latrobe, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, in The Grove at Latrobe. He was born Oct. 23, 1926, in Derry, son of the late Frank C. and Nettie (Stiffy) Crispin. He retired after 38 years of service with Toyad Corp. as a maintenance worker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and anything that involved the outdooors. Spending time with his family was always something that made him happy. He served in the Navy during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Joyce (Saxman) Crispin in 2012. He is survived by four children, Vaughn L. Crispin Jr., of Idaho, Sandra Crispin and Diana Crispin, both of Florida, and Scott A. Crispin and his wife, Beth Ann, of Latrobe; three grandchildren, Matthew D. Short and Vicki Lape, of Derry, Andrew Short, of Blairsville, and MacKenzie Crispin, of Latrobe; a great-grandson, Devin Short, of Latrobe; a nephew, Frank Crispin and his wife, Kathy, of Derry; as well as several other nieces and nephews. As per the family’s wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date. A private interment will be held in Bethel Church Cemetery, Latrobe.
