Van Farrell Gross passed away peacefully with family on January 3, 2019 at the age of 75. Van was born November 11, 1943 in Vicco, Kentucky to the late Vernal and Larcena Gross. He married his beloved wife Barbara in Detroit 1965. Together they raised their two sons, Van and Vernal and enjoyed their grandchildren. They shared 45 years together until her passing in 2010. He enjoyed working with upholstery.… Read More » While he never pursued it professionally, Van was a very talented illustrator. He will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Van is survived by his son Van; grandchildren Miranda, Samantha, Travis, Angela, and Jacqueline; siblings Nevalyn, Kenard, Frieda, and Michael. He is preceded in death by wife Barbara; youngest son Vernal; siblings Darrell and Linda; and parents Vernal and Larcena. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until the sharing service at 6:00 p.m. at Hauss-Modetz Funeral home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.
