Beloved husband for 67_ years of Edith May (nee Kruszyna) Grossman. Loving father of Thomas (Mary) Grossman, Jr. , MD, FACS, of Burlington, WI, James (Martha Jo) Grossman of Pittsburg, PA, and John Grossman, MA (preceded in death by Ulrike Hett) of Schrepkow, Germany. Proud grandfather of Michael Grossman, Kathryn (Tate Paulette PHD) Grossman PHD, Whitney (Jefry) Davis (lately of the US Airforce) , and Emma Grossman. Dear brother of Leroy (Marcia) Grossman Jr, and preceded in death by his brother Richard (Merilyn). Further survived by other relatives and good friends. Served his country in the US Navy as the gunnery Officer on the USS Hardwood (DDE-861), entered the US Navy Reserves, returned to Navy active duty as a Medical Officer, then back to the active reserves as a Lieutenant Commander in the Medical Corps. A graduate of Harvard University and Marquette School of Medicine. Internship training at the US Naval Hospital, Bethesda Maryland. Specialty training in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery) at the US VA Hospital Wood, WI. In the private practice of Otolaryngology and on the clinical faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin for 18 years, then as an Assistant Professor of Surgery (Otolaryngology), full time faculty member of the Medical College of Wisconsin, and an Emeritus Clinical Professor of the Medical College of Wisconsin. A member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, a Walter Zeit fellow of the Medical College of Wisconsin, a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, a fellow at the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Wisconsin Otolaryngology Society (and past President), a member of the Milwaukee Society of Head and Neck Medicine and Surgery (and past President), a member of the American Broncho-Esophagological Association, a member of the Society of University Otolaryngologists, and a member of the Association for Research in Otolaryngology. Personal interests included the outdoors, his farm in Kiel, Wisconsin, gardening, a Son of the American Revolution, the Wisconsin Unit of the Herb Society of America, and an original founder of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Cedarburg and a weekly Martins reader there. A skilled cook, a patient teacher, a kind and gentle person, a loving husband, father, and grandfather who could also overhaul old Jeeps, tractors, and trucks. Visitation will take place on Friday, February 1, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feerick Funeral Home with a Trisagion service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, February 2 at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, N65W6503 Cleveland Street, Cedarburg. Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park Cemetery will be private for the family. Memorials in Thomas’s name may be made to St. Nicholas Church, Alexian Village Employee Appreciation Fund, or the Office of Development of the Medical College of Wisconsin.
