Obituary of Terry Weiler, Sr. West Leyden- Terry J. Weiler, Sr., 63, of State Rt. 26, husband of Tammy, passed away at his residence, while surrounded by the loving care of his family and hospice, on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Affectionately known as T.J., he was born in Constableville, on June 26, 1955, a son of Alvin and Helen LaQuay Weiler, Sr. He grew up in West Leyden, where he attended school, later graduating from Adirondack Central School, Boonville, with the Class of 1974. Terry was an avid learner and furthered his education taking classes from BOCES in blueprinting and electrical welding; he also attended MVCC receiving certificates in blueprinting, machine tooling, and basic statistical process control. Terry also attended the Ultimate Advanced program training for Hurco. Terry had a wonderful career with Bartell Machinery of Rome, beginning in 1974 until his retirement in August 2017. In 2003 he joined the TSS program and traveled all around the world for Bartell’s. On May 1, 1982, Terry was united in marriage with Tammy Lasher, at the West Leyden Reformed Church. Together the couple made their home on route 26 in West Leyden. A previous marriage to Debbie Beadore Rudd ended in divorce. Terry was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL franchise, the 1965 Ford Mustang, and enjoyed playing softball, time spent with family, and will fondly be remembered for his love of splitting firewood. Terry loved and treasured his family. In addition to his wife, Tammy, Terry is survived by three sons, Terry J. Weiler, Jr., David (Heidi) Weiler and Travis (Amanda) Weiler and his grandchildren, Brett, Zach, Alexis, Chance, Alana, Logan, Brayden, and Devin; his siblings: Sally Clarke (Bob Kopek), Gary (Robin) Weiler, Nancy (Brian) Dumont, Susan (Rick) Malek, Carol (Jim) Dykstra, and Wayne (Tina) Weiler; mother-in-law Edith “Sis” Roberts (Ray “Red” Powel), sister and brothers-in-law: Dawn (Ed) Zagurski, Duane (Janice) Roberts, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Terry was predeceased by his parents, brothers: Alvin J. Weiler, Jr. in 2008, and Robert Weiler in 1951, and a brother-in-law Francis Clarke in 1992. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 4:00 pm at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where calling hours will be held from 1pm until the service.
