Obituary of Shirley Dosher Shirley Louise Dosher (nee Dean) “Squirrel” On Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at the age of 68, Shirley passed away suddenly at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center as the result of an apparent cerebral vascular accident, with her loving husband and her best friend, Tracy Kuhn, by her side. She was born at Station Hospital in Ft. McPherson, GA, and raised in Ocala, FL. Shirley has been a Joliet area resident for the past 40 years. She was a kind, professional and welcoming limousine driver in the Joliet region for over 15 years and was formerly employed at Merichka’s Restaurant as a bartender for nine years preceding. Shirley was a people person; she loved conversation and treating customers well. She especially enjoyed her family and those wonderful trips to Florida. She was preceded by her parents, Harold Vernon and Louise (nee Manley) Dean; one sister, Debi; and two brothers, Buddy and David. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Arthur Wayne Dosher of Crest Hill; one son, Charles “Chip” Buck; her loving daughter, Christal (fiancé Abe Gutierrez) Elkins; a loving special girl who we call our daughter, Anna Maria; two step daughters, Desiree Dosher and Heather (Chad Browder) Miller; and six grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Shirley was a giving person. Even at her own death, she has given the gift of life to others by donating her organs for the benefit of those she has never met. It was also her request to have cremation rites accorded with a memorial service and final interment to take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. Fred C.
