Shirley A Marr 1939 2019

Obituary of Shirley Marr Shirley A. Marr (nee Patterson), 79, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Monday, January 28, 2019. Born in Long Branch to the late William and Margaret Height Patterson, she had lived in Manasquan before moving to Point Pleasant fifty-eight years ago. Shirley loved animals, raising butterflies, and had a “Green Thumb” as her ability to raise plants was exceptional. In her neighborhood, she was known as the “Lollipop Lady” and adored kids. Shirley had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Belmar, and First Baptist Church, Manasquan. For many years, she did many shut-in visitations and taught Sunday School. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Phineas B. Marr, Jr. and her siblings, Kenneth Height, Doris Nagel, and Frederick Patterson. Surviving are her son, Phineas B. Marr, III and his wife Missy of Hammond, LA. Also surviving are her sister, Alice Emmons; and two brothers, Robert and Richard Patterson. A memorial visitation will be from 12 Noon – 2 p.m., Sunday, February 3 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 1:30 p.m. a service will be held.
