OBITUARY Shawn A Robinson March 4, 1960 – January 23, 2019 Portland- Shawn Alan Robinson, 58 years of age, and a resident of Portland Maine, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family following a courageous six-month battle with cancer. Shawn was born March 4, 1960, in Lorain, Ohio. He was a 1978 graduate of Marion L. Steele High School, Amherst, Ohio. Shawn moved to New England in 1987 and made his home in Portland, Maine for the last 30 years. Shawn worked for the US Postal System in both Massachusetts and Maine for 30 years and retired November 2018. Shawn enjoyed getting to know those on his mail routes personally and will be remembered for his great kindness to others. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters and recently welcomed his first granddaughter. Biking, playing cards on the back deck, and watching live musicals were some of his favorite past times. Shawn leaves to cherish his memory, his partner, Jeff Zamboni, daughters, Stacey Robinson and her husband, James Foster and granddaughter Lillian Robin Foster of Carrboro, NC., his daughter Emma Robinson of Durham, NC., Brothers Glenn Robinson and his wife Linda of Lorain, OH, David Robinson and his wife Becky of Tallmadge, OH, Scott Robinson and his wife Joan of Amherst, OH and sister Lori Zahorec and her husband Joe of Lorain, OH and sister in law Diane Robinson of Richfield, OH and many nieces and nephews. Shawn was preceded in death by his parents Nell and George Robinson. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 with a visitation at 11:00 a.m. and a service at 12 noon at Jones Rich & Barnes Funeral Home 199 Woodland Street, Portland, Maine. The Rev. Jeff Mcllwain will officiate. A private family burial will be held at a later date. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
