Obituary for Scott Erik Nelson Scott Erik Nelson, 28, son of Lucinda and Kenneth Nelson, died suddenly January 4, 2019 after a long battle against drug addiction. Scott was born in Trenton, New Jersey, on September 24, 1990. He moved to Mount Airy with his family in 1991. Scott was a natural athlete excelling at running and basketball. After graduation from Linganore High School he worked as an electrician. Scott had a contagious smile and a warm heart. He loved Jesus, he loved his family, and he loved his many friends. Scott is survived by two children, Brennan and Grace Nelson, and by his long term girlfriend and mother of his children Amanda Butler. He is also survived by his parents Lucinda and Kenneth Nelson, his brother Steven Nelson, his sister Kristin Nelson, and grandparents Edward Nelson, Mary Lou Nelson, William Gorham, and Susan Gorham. Services will be conducted at Calvary United Methodist Church, Mount Airy, Maryland, on January 8 at 11:00 AM.
