Sadie’s Obituary Sadie Lorene Peek went to join her loved ones in heaven on December 19, 2018. Sadie was born to Lillie Easterwood Zimmerman and Leander Zimmerman on May 12, 1926 in Hogansville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Russel Peek and her daughter, Charlene Peek Warren. Sadie was retired from Rich’s Department Store in Atlanta where she held several positions including Purchasing Agent. Sadie was a loving, dedicated Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her family was her life and she loved having them close to her and preparing their favorite foods. She leaves behind a daughter, Joyce Peek Lysne, a son Kenneth Peek, and son-in law, Donnie Warren, Also her grandchildren: Bryan Warren and wife Jennifer, Eric Warren and wife Brandi, Jennifer Lysne Parker and husband Sharrod, and Cynthia Lysne Birdwell and husband Joel. She also had 14 much loved great grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Raymond Zimmerman and two sisters, Nellie Axelroad and Jeanette West. The church was a big part of Sadie’s life. She was a member of Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church for more than 60 year and was active in many phases of the church. The family will receive visitors at Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church, East Point, Georgia on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. The funeral will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. with Reverend Darwin Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Donehoo – Lewis Funeral Home, 736 S. Central Avenue, Hapeville, Georgia 30354.
