Ryan David Brady 1997 2019

Obituary for Ryan David Brady With deepest sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son, Ryan, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, on Monday, January 21, 2019. Son of Christine M. (nee Streiler) and Mark F. Brady; loving brother of Matthew and Lucy Brady; dear grandson of Donn and Lucy Streiler and Carol and the late Patrick Brady; loving nephew of David (Emily Hayes) Streiler, Darren Streiler and the late Donnie Streiler and Craig (Betsy) Brady, dear cousin of Brooke (Steven) Rodgers, Heidi Ponder, David Streiler and Sam Streiler; dear uncle to Mary and Emma Rodgers; and dear friend to many. Ryan was born to Christine and Mark on May 25, 1997 in Kansas City, Missouri and moved to the St. Louis area when he was 3 years old with his parents and older brother Matthew. Ryan’s younger sister, Lucy, was born in 2003. Ryan attended Mary Queen of Peace School in Webster Groves (Kindergarten – 8th Grade) where he met so many of his wonderful life-long friends with whom he shared such great experiences and fun over his lifetime. While at MQP, Ryan was a strong student and enjoyed participating in CYC soccer, basketball and track. After graduating from MQP, Ryan attended Saint Louis University High School, and was a member of the class of 2015. While attending SLUH, Ryan ran on the Cross Country team, travelled to Russia as part of the Russian Club and participated in many service projects. Ryan filled the halls of SLUH with his magnetism and people were drawn to him, to his kindness and to his endless ability to make everyone smile. SLUH afforded Ryan the opportunity and environment to expand his circle of friends, enhance his faith and capitalize on his intellectual curiosity (which was never in short supply). After graduating from SLUH, Ryan attended the University of Arizona where he studied engineering and received the Arizona Award of Excellence. Never one to shy away from developing strong friendships and engaging in fun activities, Ryan was a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity and loved his brothers like family. Ryan had found a home at University of Arizona. During his sophomore year at U of A, Ryan developed an auto-immune disorder known as alopecia which required that he return home to St. Louis to further his academic career at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, but he cherished his time in Arizona and the bonds of friendship forged while there. Upon his return to St. Louis, Ryan met his girlfriend Cami with whom he shared so much fun, love and affection over the last year. Ryan loved traveling on family vacations, playing video games with his brother and sister and friends, watching and cheering for his favorite sports teams and playing with (and also making fun of) the family pets. He had a wry sense of humor, a tremendous capacity to make people laugh, and cherished the company of his friends. Ryan enjoyed researching and undertaking deep dives into a wide variety of topics (both important and trivial) just so he could understand the nuances of the world around all of us. Ryan will be forever remembered by everyone whom he touched as extremely insightful, compassionate, fiercely loyal, relentless in his intellectual explorations and both generous and expressive with his love and affection. As a result, all of us that knew Ryan, loved Ryan. When you think of Ryan in the future, celebrate the great memories you shared with him. As a family, we are so proud of Ryan’s many accomplishments, the young man he had become and the path on which he was travelling before his life was cut too short. But most of all, we love you Ryan, we always have and always will. Visitation from 4:00-8:00pm Friday, February 1, at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood, MO 63122.
