Russell C. Martin, Sr., 90, of Quakertown died January 22, 2019 in Meadow Glen at Phoebe Richland. He was the husband of the late Irene B. (Deiter) Martin. Born in Scranton, PA he was the son of the late Fred & Ida (Biemueller) Martin. He retired in 1992 from the former U.S. Gauge after 33 years of service. Russell and his brothers owned and operated the former Martin Brothers Sprint Car Racing Team. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He is survived by his three children Russell, Jr. (Denise) of Quakertown, Karen I. Pelham (Donald) of Green Lane, Kevin T. (Richard Schurkamp) of New York City. Three grandchildren Russell, III (JoAnne), Melissa (Josh Calabrette), Heather (Seth Ruth), four great grandchildren Gavin, Blake, Olivia, and Jaxon. Predeceased by a sister Irene Vengard, and three brothers Fred, Robert and twin brother Rowland. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of the C.
