Obituary for Roger Dale Smith Roger Dale Smith, 62, of Oak Hill, WV passed away January 1, 2019 at St. Francis Select Hospital in Charleston, WV. Roger was born on April 19, 1956 in Oak Hill to the late Reva and Edgar Smith. Roger was a former police officer for the City of Mt. Hope and more recently a security officer for FEMA. He enjoyed playing the guitar, working on cars and loved to fish and hunt. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Irene O’Neal Smith; brother, Edward Leon Smith and sister, Patsy Smith. Those left to cherish his memory include son Glen Huffman of Powellton, WV, daughter Carrie Smith of Oak Hill, grandsons Ashton and Seth Huffman of Oak Hill and 6 brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 5th at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Cemetery, off Gatewood Rd. in Fayetteville with Pastor Darrell Fuller presiding. Friends may gather at 12:30 p.m. at High Lawn Funeral Home if they wish to join the funeral procession to the cemetery. Pall Bearers will be friends of the family.
