Robert’s Obituary Salem- Robert C. Nelson, Jr. 61, passed away January 11, 2019 in East Palestine following a lengthy illness. Robert was born May 4, 1957 in Everett, WA, son of Robert and Marlis Nelson. He resided in West Virginia before moving to Salem in 2005. He was a 1976 graduate of East Palestine High School and enjoyed motorcycles, NASCAR, hunting and fishing. He previously worked as a driller for Duncan Brothers and was a Lutheran by faith. Robert is survived by a daughter, Tonya (Dan) McMillan of Columbiana, a brother, Nelson (Tamara) Freeze, a sister, Sheree Stevens both of East Palestine; six grandchildren, Trystin, Chase, Xavier, Paisley, Tavia and Kade as well a great granddaughter, Brooklynn. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Sven Nelson October 13, 2018, his mother, Marlis Freeze January 4, 2019 and a sister, Marcia Valencia. The family will receive friends Tuesday January 15, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. No other public services will be observed. He will be laid to rest privately beside his mother at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford. Read More
