Robert A. Needles, Sr., of Camden, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 1, 2019, in his home. He was 70. Robert was born March 12, 1948, in Wilmington, DE to the late, John & Martha (Finney) Needles. He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart then returned to his career in masonry. He worked for Neal’s Inc., in Wilmington for many years, before starting his own business, KJV Masonry, before retiring. Robert loved the Lord, and was a member of the Eastern Shore Bible Baptist Church. He also had a ministry of his own street preaching, leading many to Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Tompkins) Needles; and siblings, Johnny Needles, Carolyn Burris, Virginia Alters, James Needles, and Joseph Needles. Robert is survived by his 3 children, Gloria M. Simpson and her husband, Joe, of Magnolia; Rebecca A. Hernandez and her husband, Jay, of Atlanta, Georgia; and Robert A. Needles, Jr., of Camden; his grandchildren, Rachel & Sarah Simpson, and Chase Hernandez; and his siblings, Janice Wright, of Ocala, Florida; Cecelia Vines, of Upton, Maryland; Frederick Needles, of New Castle, DE; and Shirley Gantz, of Newark, DE. Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, January 10, 2019, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE; where family and friends may view 2 hours before.
