Richard Lynch, Jr, 71, formerly of Evansville passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Transcendent South in Boonville, IN. He was born August 3, 1947 in Evansville, IN to the late Marcella (Briody) and Richard Lynch, Sr. Richard graduated from Reitz High School in 1966. He served in the US Air Force. Richard is a former employee at Bootz Manufacturing, International Steel Company, a 16 year employee at Whirlpool Corporation, Pendleton Security, RiverCity Electric Inc., and most recently at Ice Products Inc. He was an amateur radio operator and a member of a AARL and various other amateur radio clubs. His call letters were KA9HIR. He enjoyed NASCAR, collecting baseball cards, and Hot Wheels. Richard is survived by his wife, Diane (Smith) Lynch of 52 years; sons, Richard Lynch, III, Michael (Michelle) Lynch, Steven (Stacy) Lynch, Scott (Ashley) Lynch, and Jason Lynch; 20 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Bates, Sr. Visitation will be 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 First Avenue, Evansville. Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
