Rebecca Reed-Emmerich, age 65, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Becky, daughter of the late Roger and Helen Reed, was born and raised in Walker, Michigan. Becky studied acting and poetry in New York City where she raised her son, Michael. In addition to being a devoted mother, Becky was a gifted writer and a creative thinker. She will be remembered for her kindness, curiosity, keen wit, and love of music and nature. She will be greatly missed by her son, Michael Emmerich; sisters Kate Reed McCartney and Jean Reed (David) Bahle; brother David (Mary) Reed; her husband of fifteen years, Jim Emmerich; nieces, Nataly Reed (Alex Schweig); Margaret Reed (Jessa Edwards); nephew Michael (Kathy) Reed; and grand nephews, Ian and Isaac Reed. A memorial service will be held for Becky at Fountain Street Chapel, 24 Fountain Street NE, in Grand Rapids, on February 16, at 1:00 pm.
