Obituary for Ralph Egan Ralph E. Egan– Church Hill, TN Ralph Edward Egan, 72, Church Hill, TN passed away Sunday, January 6th, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center Ralph was born in Scott County Virginia on March 4th, 1946 son of the late Charlie Ralph Egan and Eva (Rutherford) Egan. In addition to his parents, sisters, Mae and Ethel Egan and brothers, Bob Egan, Gene Egan, and half-brother, Howard Maggard preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Crystal Austin and fiancé Derrick Baker, Gate City, VA; sons, Marvin Egan, Kingsport, TN, Wesley Egan, Kingsport, TN, Vance Egan and wife, Sherry, Kingsport, TN; sister, Faye Snipes, Greeneville, TN; grandchildren, Brittany Crawford, Josh (Kayla) Egan, Kayla (Travis) Samuels, Brianna Austin, Justin Austin, and Carter Egan; great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Kamiah, Brooklyn, Tommy; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Gate City Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Coy Butler officiating. Music will be provided by Dinah Hicks and by Pine Grove Harmony. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 9th, 2019 at Egan/Thompson Cemetery, Duffield, VA. Jason “Scott” Butler, Wesley Egan, Vance Egan, Marvin Egan, Justin Austin, Derrick Baker, Rick Bishop, and Josh Egan will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at Gate City Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday to go into procession to the graveside service.
