QUENTIN R. BURGTORF Quentin R. “Burt” Burgtorf, 60, of Quincy, passed away at 3:28 p.m. Sunday (January 27, 2019) in Quincy. Born October 9, 1958 in Quincy, Quentin was the son of Ralph M. “Scoop” and Patricia A. Eberle Burgtorf. He had been married to Lorena “Tinker” Haynes. An avid fisherman and outdoorsman, Quentin also enjoyed mushroom hunting, camping and racing. He loved working with his hands and built several racecars that competed at the local area raceways. Quentin loved spending time with his family and going to the tavern to hang out with his friends. Quentin was previously employed with Kenny Huff, installing stadium and venue lighting and as a roofer for Jimmy Sanders. He was currently employed at Joe’s Body Shop in Quincy. Survivors include his mother, Patricia Burgtorf of Quincy; two children, Misty Little of Quincy and Michael Burgtorf of Quincy; five grandchildren, Zoe Little, Rayna Little, Dorie Little, Quentin Ray Burgtorf and Ian James; a sister, Christina Burgtorf of Quincy; three brothers, Chandler Burgtorf (Debra), Warren Burgtorf (Cheryl) and Wesley Burgtorf (Suzie) all of Quincy; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Mr. Burgtorf was preceded in death by his father, Ralph; and a nephew, Chandler Ray “Chad” Burgtorf Jr. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation. The family will host a celebration of Life for Quentin Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at Rocky Point Club, 3603 Bonansinga Drive, Quincy, IL. A covered dish would be appreciated. Memorials may be made to Pat Burgtorf to help with expenses.
