Obituary of Phyllis Groebner Phyllis Groebner was born on October 15, 1954 to Gordon and Lois (Gongoll) Plocher in Watertown, MN. She graduated from Watertown High School and then attended Willmar Vo-Tech for clerical training. While attending Vo-Tech, she met Carl Groebner. The couple married on September 14, 1974 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano, MN. Carl and Phyllis moved to the Clements area to farm after their marriage. Phyllis then worked for Larson’s Nursery, Hacker’s Greenhouse, Runnings, and BIC for the last 25 years. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling the US on family road trips, birds, embroidering, quilting, and attending her grandchildren’s events. Phyllis was a past member of St. Joseph’s Church and was an active member in the CCW. Phyllis Groebner died on December 30, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Springfield, at the age of 64. She is survived by her husband Carl Groebner of Clements; children – Angela (Josh) Littlefield of Rochester, David (Lori) Groebner of Springfield, Beth (Ryan) Heifner of Estherville, IA, Robert (Amanda) Groebner of Graceville; grandchildren – Toriana and Dana Groebner, Kennedy, Alexandra, and Abigail Groebner, Noah, Alec, and Gavin Heifner, and Gracie, Tyler, and Dylan Groebner; great grandchild Brantley Groebner; and siblings – Pamela Plocher and Mark Plocher. Phyllis was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and brother Clarke.
