Obituary for Peter Gallagher Peter Gallagher 81 of Middletown, NJ passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 13, 2019 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, NJ. Peter was born on November 12, 1937 in Jersey City, NJ. After graduating high school Peter met the love of his life Barbara and they moved from Jersey City and settled in Middletown, NJ. Peter worked for Swift and Company, and Supermarkets General in Payroll and Data Processing. Peter is predeceased by his parents, his son Peter, and his brothers Thomas, Lawrence, and James and sisters Marie, and Rita. Peter is the beloved husband of Barbara for 57 wonderful years. He is the devoted father to Brian (Darlene), Kevin (Susan), Karen (Andy) and daughter-in-law Debra. He is the loving brother to Joseph and wife Jo Ann, Jack, and sisters Claire, and Peggy. He is survived by his 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was a faithful parishioner of Saint Mary Mother of God Church for over 50 years. Peter had many joys in life, some of which were basketball, the New York Giants, and going on vacation. He was a former MYAA basketball Commissioner and coached basketball and baseball. Of all his joys, it was being with his family that made him happiest. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Peter will be reposing at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home 1735 Rt. 35, Middletown, NJ 07748 on Thursday January 17, 2019 from 4 – 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday January 18, 2019 at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Chapel. Interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
