Patrick H. O’Connor, age 84, of Bradley, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Citadel Nursing Home in Kankakee. He was born December 14, 1934 in Chebanse, the son of Leo J. & Cecelia Berns O’Connor. He married Marjorie Bertrand on August 8, 1964 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. He retired from Armour Pharmaceutical after 48 years of service. Patrick enjoyed gardening and grew red roses. He liked cooking on the grill and traveling. Patrick enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sports and activities. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie O’Connor of Bradley; one son and daughter-in-law, Ryan & Tonya O’Connor of Bradley; one daughter and son-in-law, Julie & Mike Podowicz of Clifton; and seven grandchildren, Jared, Jenna, and McKenna O’Connor and Alexis, Logan, Emery, and Aidan Podowicz. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leo, Ambrose, Kenneth, Laverne, Norbert, and Joseph; and sisters, Theresa Kennedy and Dorothy Niessen. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais. Memorials may be made to Bishop McNamara Catholic Schools or St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley.
