Sando on September 27, 1927 in Rosholt, South Dakota. On March 18, 1955, Norma married Carl Bergstrom. They spent their time farming near Eagle Bend, MN. Norma kept busy following God and serving others, even as her strength began to fail. One of her last concerns, after making sure the cookies were out of the oven on time, was to make sure this thought be expressed to her loved ones: Norma was very thankful to God for granting her heart’s desire for a big family. She had overwhelming gratitude to that family for times spent and happy memories. She appreciated support and love from friends in Eagle Bend, at Windmill Ponds, from the Hospice care givers, and so many kind folks in the surrounding community. Norma was preceded in death by parents; husband Carl (1901-1988); son James (1948-2001); daughter-in-law Patti Jo Leaf (1951-2006); Carl’s children Donald (Bernice), Roger, Kenneth (Lois), and Jimmy; and siblings Gloria Medhaug, Wallace, and James. Norma is survived by Betty (Bergstrom) Haskins (John), Nels Marvin (Janice) Bergstrom, daughters-in-law, Lucille and Dianne; grandchildren, Greg (Robin) Hadley and Shelly (Harold) Alexander; great-grandchildren, Keira and Derek (Abagale Schule) Alexander, great-great-grandchildren, Avery and Myles; sister Alois Rau from Kensington, Grandpa Chuck Leaf; along with many Bergstrom grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Interment prayers will be said following the lunch, private burial to be held in Rosholt, SD. Memories of Norma will comfort many hearts as she was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
