Nema C Mercer 2019

Nema Cassady Mercer, 98 of Bowling Green, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at The Colonial Center Nursing and Rehab. She was born January 27, 1921 in Bowling Green to the late Dewey A. and Zola Mae (McLemore) Cassady. Mrs. Mercer was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church and a retired clerk for Hawkins Upholstery. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt. Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Mercer, one son, Russ Mercer, and four brothers, Russell Cassady, Richard Cassady, Charles Wayne Cassady, and Loid Cassady. Survivors include two children, Janet (Danny) Vickous of Bowling Green and Ron (Wanda) Mercer of Tampa, FL. She is also survived by one sister, Norma Jean (Bob) Kirby of Bowling Green. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Crystal (Luis) Vickous, Amanda Vickous, Kevin Mercer, Chris Mercer, Adam (Jessie) Mercer, Lisa (Mike) Mazza, Ronda (Todd) Mort, and LeAnna (Eric) Keyse and 14 great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel, with Rev. Adam Shourds officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 PM Friday and 10 AM until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
