Robert Keith Jackson, 71, of Groveland, Florida and formerly of Columbus passed from this life on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 12:37a.m. at Clermont Health and Rehab. Born on September 3, 1947 in Scottsburg, Indiana the son of Glenton G. and Lena B. Price Jackson. On September 1, 1973 he married Myrna D. Empson. Mr. Jackson was a proud United States Army veteran. He retired from Cummins Engine Company and went on to become an insurance agent and started Jackson Insurance Services. Past member of Masonic Lodge #343 in Hope and also a 30 year member of the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching movies, playing golf, boating, eating ice cream, and watching basketball and football. Survivors include his son, Jim (Deana) Jackson of Groveland, Florida; Grandchildren, Chris Jackson, Brandon Jackson, and Ashley Jackson; 9 Great Grandchildren; Step-grandchildren, Ben Church and Morgan Church; Siblings, Sharon (Jim) McDonald, Joanna (Jim) Zaharako, Larry (Judy) Jackson, Steve (Nancee) Jackson, and Denis Latta; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Wife on October 5, 2016; and brother and sister-in-law, Dale (Marlene) Jackson. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Rev. Dave Crandall officiating. Family and friends may call from 10:00a.m. to time of services at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
