Mike’s Obituary Mike Gilmore, born Leonard Michael Gilmore, on November 5, 1943, officially “Punched-Out” from his life pleasures and duties on January 8, 2019. Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl; daughters, Annette (Steve) Hunsicker, Gail (Randy) Trudell; son, Shane Gilmore; grandchildren, Travis, Trever and Trey Richardson, Mallory (Jeremy) Betz, Alexander, Madelyn and Aubrey Trudell; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Hudson and Hayden Richardson. He is also survived by Cheryl’s daughters, Kim (Brent) Johnson and Rebecca (Brian) Armstrong; and devoted and loyal dog “Maggie”. Mike was preceded in death by his son, Mark Gilmore; parents, Marion “Tink” and Martha Gilmore; and sisters, Barb Caywood and Geraldine Olechowski. Mike had lifelong friends from Michigan Center High School, Clark Equipment, Ford Motor-Saline, Tuesdays @ Thuli’s, the Polar Bear, and the Rose City American Legion. Mike graduated from Jackson Community College and he was a career Electrician. He enjoyed the view from his deck on Olcott Lake, Harley rides and daily putterings. Mike, Cheryl and Maggie spent their retirement years venturing across the United States, ultimately parking the motorhome and trailer full of toys at “Reeves Run” in Lake Helen, Florida. Mike’s family invites all that knew him, to join them at the Hampton Funeral Home (4204 Ann Arbor Road, Jackson, MI 49202) on Saturday, February 23, 2019, for a visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service which will begin at 2:30 p.m. Immediately following the service and according to Mike’s wishes, we invite all friends and family to participate in a celebration of life and “Happy Hour” at the Rose City Post American Legion in Michigan Center.
