WEYMOUTH, DORCHESTER, BRAINTREE & HAMPTON, NH – Michael E. Mortimer passed away on Wednesday, January 9th, 2019 after a brief illness. He was the beloved son of Walter and the late Barbara Mortimer. He leaves behind brothers, Brian Mortimer of Braintree, MA and Mark Mortimer, of Hampton NH, and two sisters, Barbara Kelleher of Hanover, MA and Dianne Mortimer, of Weymouth, MA. Michael leaves behind several nieces and nephews including Emilie and Claire Mortimer, of Braintree, MA, Shannon and Ryan Kelleher of Hanover, MA, and Owen Mortimer, of Hampton, NH. Michael was a 30 year U.S.P.S. Letter Carrier at the Back Bay Boston. He was also an avid runner, participating in many charitable fundraisers throughout the years. Visiting hours are on Tuesday January 15th from 4 to 8 PM, at the Mortimer Peck Funeral Home located at 516 Washington St. in Braintree, MA. A 10 AM Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday January 16th at St. Gregory’s Church on 2223 Dorchester Ave., Lower Mills, Dorchester, followed by a burial at 11:15 AM, at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, 920 Adams St. Dorchester. Charitable donations in Michael’s memory should be made to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Pl, Brookline, MA 02445.
