Taylor (Hamilton), 99, passed away on January 22nd surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of Millville, and graduated from St. Mary Magdalen School and Millville High. In 1985 she retired from the State of New Jersey at Ancora State Hospital after 35 years of service. Mary was known for her boundless spunk, her beautiful singing voice, and her love of cooking and chatting politics. She served on the election board until recently, and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City. Her baked beans and potato salad were famous among family and friends, and she provided them frequently for events at St. Mary Magdalen Church where she was a lifelong parishioner. Mare was well-known for her one-liners as she was for her near limitless generosity. Mary is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Catherine Hamilton (Connolly), her husband, George Douglas Taylor, and her two sisters, Margaret Tozer and Helen Fien, and brother-in-law, Frank Fien. {Also predeceased by her Aunt Mary and Uncle Ed Charlesworth who cared for her and her sisters after the death of their mother.} Mary is survived by her son, George Douglas Taylor, Jr. (Gia) of Scottsdale, AZ, Terrence Taylor (Rosemary) of Mays Landing, and Maureen Davis (Virgil) of Millville, her grandchildren, Stephanie, Terrence (Jennifer), Kaitlin (George), and Derrick, and her great grandchildren, Nina, George Benjamin, and Terrence. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing and funeral mass on Sunday, January 27th and Monday, January 28, 2019. There will be a viewing on Sunday from 4 PM to 6 PM and Monday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Barr Funeral Home, 2104 East Main Street in Millville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church at the Parish of All Saints, Buck and Depots Streets in Millville. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Millville.
