Marshall James Shell, age 82, of Golden Valley passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 with his loving family by his side. Marshall was born in Burke County on November 5, 1936 to the late Joseph Oliver Shell and Elise Powell Shell. He was a member of Heaven Bound Baptist Church in Ellenboro, NC. Marshall was a big fan of Nascar and loved to collect hats. But most of all he was a true family man, who loved his family deeply, and adored his grandkids. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Hazel Lee Shell. Left behind to cherish his memory is his son, Randy Shell and wife Aundrea of Morganton; a sister Beulah Whistant of Morganton; and three grandsons Matthew and Kenneth Shell, and Alex Newton. The family will have a visitation on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. at Heaven Bound Baptist Church. A Funeral Service will be held at the church at 3:00 p.m. with Rev Matthew Stamey and Rev Greg Shell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family at P.O. Box 247, Marion NC, 28752.
