Marlis’ Obituary East Palestine, OH – Marlis Freeze, 85, of East Taggart Street, passed away at 12:42 p.m. Friday January 4, 2019 at her son’s residence. Marlis was born October 8, 1933 in Oldham, SD, a daughter of the late Sven and Rose (Voeltz) Nelson and had been a long-time resident of East Palestine. She had been a homemaker and enjoyed watching westerns as well as knitting and crocheting. She was preceded in death on January 18, 2015 by her husband, Lance Freeze, whom she married May 15, 1968. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Valencia, a brother, Lewis Nelson, and a sister, Lois Lundquist, as well as a grandson, Robert Sven Nelson. She is survived by her sons, Nelson (Tamara) Freeze with whom she resided in East Palestine and Robert C. Nelson of Salem; a daughter, Sheree Stevens of East Palestine; eleven grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home on Sunday, January 6th from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. A private burial will take place in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford.
