Lucy Carmella Vono 2019

Vono, Lucy Carmella (Giacchi), 93, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony S. Vono, Jr. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Anna (Saporita) Giacchi. Lucy worked with her husband at the family business, Tony’s Market at 287 Knight Street, Providence and also in the Advertising Department of Jay Printing Co. She was a communicant of St. Timothy Church and St. Kevin Church and a member of the Pilgrim Senior Center. She always enjoyed accompanying her son Joe at his music performances making sure he played her favorite songs. She was the beloved mother of A. Joseph Vono of Warwick, Bishop Michael L. Vono, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Linda A. McAteer-Palmer (George), of Kohler, Wisconsin and Richard P. Vono (Donna), of Margate, Florida; sister of Sarah Guida, of Warwick and the late John Giacchi. She is also survived by her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be held Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 9 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St Kevin Church, Sandy Lane at 10 am. Entombment will be at Our Risen Christ Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours, Wednesday 4-8 pm. Flowers are welcome or contributions to Multiple Sclerosis Society of RI, 205 Hallene Road, #209 Warwick, RI 02886, will be appreciated.
