Lucindia Ann West, 81, of Columbus, GA passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA. A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Friday, February 1, 2019 beginning at 11:00 a.m. (EST). A private interment will conclude at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. (EST). Lucindia was born on February 28, 1937 in Charleston, WV to the late Grover and Pearlie Ann Pugh. She was a long-time employee of Captain D’s. As a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lucindia devoted her life to her family. She will be greatly missed but will forever hold a special place in each of their hearts. Other than her parents, Lucindia is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Cecil West; daughter, Carol Ann Maine; sisters, Grace Hanner and Margaret Irvine; brothers, James Pugh and Clifford Pugh. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Dukes (Randolph) of Columbus, GA; sisters, Pearl Blackmond and June Miller, both of Charleston, WV; grandchildren, Nathaniel Dukes (Hayley) of Columbus, GA, Joshua West of Auburn, AL, Raymond Dukes of Columbus, GA, Michael Maine (Susan) of Columbus, GA, Kenneth Maine of Columbus, GA, Carly Maine of Columbus, GA, Nicholas Maine of Columbus, Ga, Holly West (Ronnie) of Richland, Ga; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
