Lorie Leonard, 56, of Evansville passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital. Lorie was born November 7, 1962 in Evansville to the late James and Carolyn (Arnett) Groves. Lorie worked at various nursing homes as a CNA, and was also a private sitter. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Lorie is survived by her husband, Leroy Leonard of 36 years; daughters, Angelia Groves and Barbara Leonard; sons, Jason Leonard, Adam (Katie) Leonard and Andrew Leonard; 23 grandchildren; sisters, Kathy Gunn, Linda Groves, Debbie Chase, Shelly Tielens, and Donna Groves; brother, Jeff Groves and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Matthew Wayne Leonard; sister, Patricia Groves. Visitation will be from 12:00-6:00 pm Friday, January 18, 2019, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave. Evansville, IN 47714. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 am Saturday, January 19, 2019, at the funeral home with Pastor Jason Paul officiating. Burial will be at Park Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Vanderburgh Humane Society, 400 Millner Industrial Dr, Evansville, IN 47710 or Grace Baptist Food Pantry, 1200 N Garvin St, Evansville, IN 47711.
