Lois Mae Harris, 94, of Hoopeston, IL, formerly of Rossville, IL, passed away at 11:15 A.M. Tuesday January 29, 2019 at Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center in Hoopeston. She was born May 25, 1924, in Rossville, IL, the daughter of Harrison and Myrtle (Rainwater) Hunley. She married Myron Harris on June 2, 1941 in Missouri. He preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter, Susan Hunt of Dalton, GA; one son, Scott Harris of Hoopeston, IL; one granddaughter, Leigh Hunt; one grandson, Eric Hunt; two nieces, Marjorie Bunting of Lafayette, IN and Karen Cope of Savannah, GA; and one nephew, Jim Kirk of Bloomington, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty (Bill) Jackson and Eloise (Pearl) Poynter; two brothers, Howard and Jim Hunley and their spouses; one son-in-law; and one niece, Patsy Demlow. Lois was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing in a canasta club with her sister for many years and writing and receiving cards. She also loved to cook and feed anyone that showed up at her door. Cremation rites will be accorded, and a visitation will be held 12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M. Monday February 4, 2019 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The memorial service will follow the visitation and will begin at 1:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Milton officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
