Obituary for Lester Dean Arthur Mr. Lester Dean Arthur, 76, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis due to a short illness. He was born at home in Houston, Indiana, in 1942, to the late James and Virginia Faye (Lukes) Arthur. Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday, January 12 at 1 pm with Rev. Ryan Champion officiating. Burial will follow at Houston Cemetery. Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday from 10 am until time of service. Lester was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Brownstown. On February 26, 1961, in Brownstown, he married Shirley Skaggs; she survives. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired contractor with Arthur Brothers Construction which helped to develop a large portion of Snyde Acres, as well as multiple homes and apartment buildings across Jackson County. He will be greatly missed by his faithful dog, Buddy. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Arthur; children, Beverly Anderson, Patricia (Randall) Champion and Deloris (Brian) Luckey; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and brothers, James David Arthur and Jerry Joe Arthur. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Paul Eugene Arthur and Johnny Dale Arthur. Memorials may be written to Voss & Sons Funeral Service for funeral expenses.
